The show took place in Hazzard County a fake place in the south. (It was "suppose" to be in Georgia.) The Dukes were: Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle), Luke Duke (Tom Wopat), Bo Duke (John Schneider) and Daisy Duke (Catherine Bach). The "bad guys" were: County Commissioner, Jefferson Davis "Boss" Hogg (Sorrell Booke) and Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best). The cast also included Deputy Enos Strate (Sonny Shroyer) and mechanic Cooter Davenport (Ben Jones).
The show was built around the Dukes with the help of Cooter out smarting Boss, Rosco and Enos to do right by the town and let justice prevail. The show always had a car chase, a bar fight (in most episodes), Daisy in those Daisy Duke shorts, THE GENERAL LEE and good ole' family values.

Country Music Legend, Waylon Jennings kept the story straight for all the viewers and wrote and sang the theme song, "Good Ol' Boys". The story made us think that Jesse and Waylon knew one another. The story says that Jesse gave Waylon money to get a new guitar after his had been stolen early in his career. He gave the show a great style and help us not get to confussed, but most of all he made us laugh. His humor is good old country humor that will never go bad.
